← PERSPECTIVESPROCUREMENT GUIDE

Before you
select a BESS.

Six inputs for a useful storage enquiry: duty, capacity, interfaces, site, evidence and delivery.

Define the duty
before the capacity.

Capacity alone is not a specification. Define the operating schedule and where performance will be measured.

01

Application & duty

Describe what the storage must do, when it must do it and the available load or generation profile.

02

Power & energy

State required kW/MW and kWh/MWh, intended duration, and whether the requirement is nominal, usable DC or delivered at the connection.

03

Connection & interfaces

Identify the connection voltage and existing electrical arrangement. Define PCS, transformer, controls, protection and auxiliary scope.

04

Site & conditions

Provide location, installation setting, footprint, access and relevant environmental constraints.

05

Evidence & acceptance

Request the selected model’s datasheet, test and certification scope. Agree the acceptance process and responsibilities.

06

Delivery & support

State the project stage and target date. Confirm installation, commissioning, warranty and maintenance responsibilities before order.
